Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson who were both lawyers. Her family moved to Oxfordshire as a child when she enrolled in an academy called the Dragon School. Emma was only six when she decided she wanted to be an actor. She was trained for many years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a Part-time theatre school located in Oxford where she was taught acting and singing. At the age of 10, Emma had taken part in several Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone was the film of 2001 version from J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was announced in 1999. Emma was discovered by agents through their Oxford teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone as well as Ron Weasley told Emma after eight auditions that she had been cast in these roles. Emma was chosen to play alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's first appearance in a film was as a part of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. It broke all records in opening-day sales and opening-weekend takings and also was the highest-grossing production of the year 2001. The film was praised by critics, as were the performances of its three new stars. The Daily Telegraph, a well-read British publication, gave Emma high marks for her exceptional performance. Emma took home the Young Artist Award as the Most Outstanding Young Actress in the Feature Film. The actress was recognized five times in recognition of her performance in the film.
